Sweet DIY Nail Art
Everyone loves beautiful nail art, but it makes it that much sweeter when you can achieve the look with a DIY Kit. Here’s 4 looks you’ll love with a kit for only $29.
Look Number 1: I Heart Ikat
We gave this fashion-forward print a feminine makeover in shades of pink. To get the look, you’ll use Spark Plug, Candyland, and Tough Love.Paint your entire nail in Tough Love. Dip a brush in your bottle of Spark Plug and create short vertical hatch marks along the bottom of the nail bed, creating a “V” shape. You want them all to vary in length, with the shortest ones in the center.
Create more vertical hatch marks near the top of the nail in a large diamond pattern. Clean off the brush with nail polish remover. Using Candyland, make similar hatch marks just above the original ones.
Look Number 2: Kissed By A Rose
Give yourself a bouquet of rock-‘n’-roll roses with this floral finger art. You’ll need Candyland, Okay, Cupid, White Wedding, and Bad Romance for this design.Paint your entire nail with Candyland. On the bottom of your nail, create two white dots of polish, then apply two red dots opposite of them, so they make a cluster shape.
While the dots are still wet, use a toothpick to swirl them around until you create a two-toned blossom. Use Bad Romance to paint a tapered “leaf” on the largest rose, then dip another toothpick in White Wedding and create a thin line in the center of the black leaf.
Look Number 3: Bleeding Hearts
A surreal edge and a hint of sexiness makes for one awesome (and super-simple) design. All you need are White Wedding and Okay, Cupid to get this look.Paint your entire nail with Okay, Cupid. Dip the nail-art brush in White Wedding and create a large “V” in the center of your nail. Fill in the “V” to create a heart.
Dip your nail-art brush in nail polish remover, then drag it through the center of your still-wet heart to create a dripping effect. You may have to pass through the heart a few times to get the desired look. Then, use the same techniques to create two smaller (dripping) hearts on each side of the nail.
Look Number 4: Moon Swoon
This is probably the most girly colorblocking we’ve ever seen, and you know we totally adore it. Use Candyland and Tough Love for this lookDip your nail-art brush in Candyland, then draw a half-moon shape on the bottom of your nail. Use your brush to fill it in.
Clean off your brush with nail polish remover, then dip it in Tough Love and use it to outline the edges of your nail and around the half-moon. Fill in your nail with the fuchsia polish.
